Breaking News ! It's fair to say nobody wants to see a repeat of the League 2019-20 season which was decided by unweighted points-per-game. However, with the coronavirus causing havoc in League One over the festive period, there have been calls to introduce a circuit break, or alternatively - extend the season. Sunderland were among the 11 clubs in the division to have fixtures postponed over Christmas and New Year. With no end to the virus in sight, a season extension seems the most likely outcome - with the majority of League One clubs unaffected by the Euros later this year. But, with a new strain of the virus already affecting parts of the UK, a season curtailment is not out of the question.
