MetiNews.Com - The ITV host has picked apart BBC journalists' discussions with ministers ever since they ‘boycotted’ Good Morning Britain
Breaking News ! Dan Walker has responded to Piers Morgan’s criticism of BBC Breakfast journalists’ interviewing technique - and the ITV host is not happy about it. Piers has ranted about his rivals’ approach to speaking to ministers ever since the government started its ‘boycott’ of Good Morning Britain. Today Piers revealed that it had been nine weeks since a government representative had been on the breakfast programme, which he presents with Susanna Reid - the result of his own bullish interviewing. To fill the void, Piers, 55, has been critiquing BBC interviews in a bid to put his point across - often being rather damning in his assessment. As Leicester goes into local lockdown following a rise in Covid-19 cases, the presenter today said it was “pathetic” that health secretary Matt Hancock did not appear on the programme to discuss new measures. Dan defended himself in a Twitter post while appearing to take a swipe at Piers for not letting interviewees speak. He tweeted: “It is essential that politicians are allowed to speak. The idea (from some) that we, and others, don’t challenge ministers is completely untrue. .” Piers fumed over the response and mocked Dan with his comments. “No mate, you blew it, you had a chance,” he raged. “The health secretary gave you a load of flannel about why the number of people being tested is meaningless, and you should have torn him to ribbons.

“That’s your job. It’s not to sit back and let him spout complete nonsense. “Next time, jump in, and don’t let him get away with it. I can’t do it, because he boycotts us. Come on Dan, get a grip son.” Susanna then suggested that Dan not let Piers get to him, and to do his interview his own way. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
