Breaking News ! Supermarket giant Morrisons has announced a major change will be rolled out in every single supermarket in the UK next week. Any shoppers who have a Morrisons More card will be affected. Under the current scheme, customers get five points for every £1 spent - with 5,000 points worth a £5 voucher at the supermarket. But this will stop from May 10 - meaning the final day to collect points is May 9 - thanks to a huge overhaul of its loyalty club. Instead of getting points, shoppers will receive digital coupons via its Morrisons More app that can be used for instant savings in stores. The supermarket says these will be personalised, so they should be based on what you usually buy in stores, reports the Mirror. However, customers can keep using their existing card from May 10 onwards - but again, you won’t collect points on it and you’ll still need the app to activate offers. The cut off point for requesting any points you’ve built up before the changes come in is August 9, 2021. Vouchers can be redeemed through the app or Morrisons website, or by printing them off in store. Once you’ve requested them, they’ll remain valid for 56 weeks. As you can only get vouchers in multiples of £5 from Morrisons, any remaining points that can’t be rounded up to this amount will be lost. For example, if you have a balance of 6,000 points you can redeem 5,000 points for a £5 voucher, the remaining 1,000 points will be void. If your £5 vouchers are set up to automatically print in store, these will still appear when you next scan your More card. On its website, Morrisons said: "With Morrisons More, we are always listening to our valued customers, taking feedback on how we can improve the experience.

. "We also learned that you want to give back to your local community and to support environmental causes by going paper and plastic free wherever possible." Iceland: You don't collect points with the Iceland Bonus Card - instead, you load it up with money to spend in stores and the supermarket will give you £1 for every £20 you save. However, your cash is not protected with this loyalty scheme in the unlikely event that Iceland went bust. M&S: Sparks loyalty scheme also dishes out instant rewards, instead of collecting points. Treats from the supermarket can small goodies like free bags of Percy Pigs, or even your shopping being paid by M&S. Sainsbury's: Sainsbury's shoppers can use the Nectar loyalty scheme in stores. Nectar is also used in other shops and online retailers such as Argos and eBay. One Nectar point is worth 0.5p, which means 100 points would convert into 50p to spend. Tesco: Tesco Clubcard members get one point for every £1 they spend in store and online, or one point for every £2 spent on fuel. You can collect points through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile as well. Waitrose: myWaitrose customers also do not collect points on their spends - instead you get free hot drinks and other discounts in stores. The products you are offered discounts against are usually based on your typical spending habits.
