Breaking News ! The M62 eastbound in is closed following a serious collision involving a pedestrian and an HGV. Emergency services were called to a collision, between Junction 7 for Widnes and Junction 8 for Burtonwood at around 4pm. Merseyside Police say the crash involves a male pedestrian and a HGV. He is being treated by paramedics. The motorway was closed in both directions earlier, to allow an air ambulance to land at the scene, but the westbound carriageway has now reopened. "The westbound carriageway has been subject to temporary closures to allow emergency services access to the scene and is expected to reopen shortly.
