The new addition will be made to its Scarefest 2020 event which will begin next month. The Freak Show: Toxic Junkyard is set in an abandoned junkyard where 'Freak Show psycho clowns' roam and is certainly not for the easily spooked. Alton Towers say the psycho clowns have gone into hiding and are plotting in secret their next heist and it's up to dare devil visitors entering the junkyard to help stop their evil plan. Inspired by its hugely popular Freak Show 'scare zone' which has featured at Scarefest in previous years, the theme park says its scare experts at the Resort have significantly dialled up the fear factor and created a menacing maze featuring psycho clowns and horrifying freaky folk that can only be endured by those aged 15 years and over.
. The Alton Towers Dungeon will also be offering spooks and scares to guests wishing to venture through the attraction on a hideously hilarious journey through Staffordshire's darkest history.

As many of these new additions are for older children and adults, Alton Towers don't want the youngsters in the family to miss out. Scarefest 2020 will also see the introduction of the Garden Lights Walk: Whispering Souls, a free family experience that gives guests the chance to see the Resort's listed gardens brought to life as never before. There will also be the Freaky Fun Zone led by Alton Towers' Halloween characters and CBeebies Land Monster Ball in CBeebies Land. Scarefest will take place at Alton Towers Resort from Friday October 9 to Sunday October 11, then each day from Friday October 16 to Sunday November 1.
