The Mayor of London is in urgent talks with Government after NHS data revealed the capital has the lowest vaccination rate in England. 2,371,407 doses have been rolled out across the country, but only 237,524 of these have been administered in London. And just 2.9 per cent of people of all ages in the capital have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, Sky News revealed. Nearly two million people have been given the first dose of the vaccine in England (1,997,204), but only 374,103 have received the second. This is while the Government pushes to provide as many people with the first dose as possible. The Midlands comes top for the most vaccinations received (447,329), followed by the North East and Yorkshire (433,045) and the South East (411,257). But just 199,986 Londoners have received the first dose of the vaccine, and 37,538 have received the second. This is despite 10 out its 32 London boroughs falling into the top 25 areas with the highest Covid-19 infection rates in the country. London has the lowest coverage of over 80s 5.
