Breaking News ! A 2-year-old has raised more than £900 to help fund rehabilitation sessions for disabled children. Ralph Sunderland, pushed for glory on June 27, when he completed 100 leg presses on a homemade machine built by his grandfather. Two-year-old Ralph has been paralysed since birth after suffering a spinal stroke in December 2017. The damage to his spinal cord left him paralysed from the waist down, his hips out of alignment and his feet twisted backwards. Doctors delivered the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done to help Ralph. However, In May 2018, his mother, India reached out to a rehabilitation centre called Neurokinix Kids, which helped fund six free rehabilitation sessions. Due to the pandemic, the sessions are under threat as the charitable trust has suffered a loss in income. In a bid to save the scheme, Ralph set out to complete 100 consecutive presses for the charity in just six minutes. Ralph's mother, India said: “Two years ago we wouldn’t have even dreamt that Ralph would be able to do one leg press, so for him to be able to do 100 is absolutely incredible. "He’s always been a fighter with so much determination - we’re so proud to be his parents. "The attitude and skill of the trainers are extraordinary and they have brought Ralph on so far. "With their help, he has strengthened his legs to the point he can weight bear and do more standing and stepping. "Neurokinex sets goals, not limits and we are greatly encouraged by what more they can do for Ralph- their work is simply life-changing. “The thought of other families not being able to access this is heart-breaking. "We really hope people will get behind Ralph’s challenge and help us support others.
