These are the incidents that have shocked Londoners over the weekend. 45-year-old man stabbed to death in Croydon Paul McCarroll, 45, died after being stabbed in a residential address in Croydon (Image: Met Police) Friday night saw the murder of 45-year-old Paul McCarroll in Croydon. Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 18:16hrs on Friday (November 20) to reports of a man stabbed at a residential address on Oaks Road in Kenley. Despite the efforts of emergency services Paul was pronounced dead at the scene at 18:50hrs. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Nicholas Jones, 34, of Oaks Road, Kenley was charged on Saturday (November 21) with murder. He will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates Court today (November 23). Five arrested for GBH after Poplar knife fight Police were called to Teviot Street on Friday night (file photo) (Image: Google Streetview) Police have arrested a number of people after officers were called to a knife fight in East London on Friday (November 20). The incident, which took place on Teviot Street, Poplar, E14, involved two armed groups. Just before 9pm, police arrived at the scene to find five injured people, three of them male.

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to Teviot Street, E14, shortly before 21.00hrs on Friday, 20 November to reports of a fight between two groups of people armed with knives. "Officers attended. "Five people were found injured (three males and two females). "They were treated at the scene by paramedics from London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital. "None of their injuries are life-threatening. "They have all been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH and have been taken into custody. "Two other men presented themselves at an east London hospital a short time later, one with a stab wound. "His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening. "The other man has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH and has been taken into custody. "A crime scene has been put in place in Teviot Street. "Enquiries continue."
