Breaking News ! ASOS posted a video yesterday of a Bella Hadid look alike (not really, she's just a model, but she really does look like her) imitating Bella's iconic slick back bun and she made it look incredibly easy. Bella Hadid is known for her poker straight, slick hair looks and they seem completely unattainable when you spy them on red carpets and in paparazzi shots, but ASOS finally revealed the secret to nailing it. But that's... if you look like Bella Hadid, and are a hair stylist (the woman in is a beauty expert), and have the exact same hair as Bella Hadid. And, quintessentially, have a middle parting. I learned this the hard way. This look is near impossible to master if you, like me, are one of the common folk and not a supermodel or hair guru. In fact, it made me look notably worse than I have ever looked. I'm not blaming ASOS or Bella but... no actually I am. I'm blaming them both. You did this to me. Let me talk you through the steps.

. Which is exactly what I ended up looking like. Step 1: Middle part This was the beginning of the end (Image: Maddy Mussen/MyLondon) Right this was rough because I have never had a middle parting before in my life. I say this with the upmost confidence: they make me look genuinely dreadful. Some lucky folk suit a middle and a side part, but I am not one of those people. I have been side-part-gang since I was in Year 7, which is about 11 years. My hair is very resistant to middle parts as a result, because 11 years of drying and being brushed in one direction means it doesn't particularly rate the change. So I started off on a bad foot, basically. It was doomed from the beginning. But then step two threw me a curve ball. Step 2: Take the back section of your hair into a bun Very much enjoying this iconic look, thanks me (Image: Maddy Mussen/MyLondon) Once again, this step was relatively simple as I've been twisting my hair into buns since I had enough hair to fill one. I reserved two front sections of hair, albeit a little messily, and took the rest into a simple bun. This bit threw me. I actually really rated the way this looked. All these years of hating middle partings and I suddenly learned that all I needed to do was annexe a fat chunk of my hair and they actually look alright? I felt like I was going to the Met Gala and strutting down Broadway Market in a big vintage coat and weird tiny sunglasses all at one. Big vibe from this part of the look. Read More Related Articles
