Breaking News ! Pubs are being hit with all sorts of challenges to survive in London but what do you do when your pub is too small to let anyone bar staff inside? This is the challenge facing one of London's smallest pubs, The Rake, as it tries to cope with social distancing measures. With just eight seats inside the pub the Rake has famously had as many ales as seats. There is barely space in the pub for one person to walk through at a safe distance, let alone implement a one way system. . “We have no seating inside now at all,” explains the pub’s manager George Aldridge. “We were lucky to have a large outdoor space in Borough Market, which once the market closed, we'd fill with customers when busy, with space for a couple of hundred or so.”
