In a video which has been tweeted and liked thousands of times, fans can be seen celebrating Andros Townsend's opener in the first half of Crystal Palace's match against Manchester United on Saturday evening (September 19). Hundreds of fans can be seen off their seats and jumping around, with some hugging those next to them. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is currently illegal to gather in a group of more than six people, which was introduced on September 14, with anyone caught flouting the rule facing a fine of £100, which will double each time up to £3,200 for repeat offenders. Those who do meet are asked to follow social distancing rules.
. Several people on social media slammed Boxpark for not enforcing the guidelines. One person on Twitter said: "Totally thrilled with Crystal Palace's win. Concerned about scenes at Boxpark Croydon though. No signs of physical distancing. We are in a pandemic. 4,422 new confirmed UK cases on Saturday [September 19] and 27 deaths. Friday [September 18] was the first time daily total of positive tests had exceeded 4,000 since May 8."
