Hundreds of revellers were reportedly seen in Shoreditch
A heavy police presence was seen in Shoreditch on Friday night, July 31 after a police officer was hit with a bottle outside Shoreditch High Street Tube station. Witnesses reported seeing around 10 police vehicles parked outside the London Underground station following the attack at 10pm. The officer's injuries were not serious and one man has been arrested, the Met Police said. In a statement the force said: "There was a crime scene near Shoreditch Tube station, after a police officer on patrol was hit with a bottle shortly after 10pm. "The officer was treated at the scene by paramedics for a cut to the head and was taken to hospital as a precaution. "One man has been arrested." Reports on social media suggest the heavy police presence was also due to hundreds of revellers gathering in the area, especially Boxpark and the surrounding venues.
