Breaking News ! More bad news for holidaymakers as the UK’s largest tour operator, TUI, has extended the suspension of Spanish holidays for UK customers. The tour operator has cancelled all trips to mainland Spain until at least August 17. Its schedules in Spain’s Balearic and Canary Islands are also on hold until August 10. The news comes a week after a 14-day quarantine requirement was imposed by the government for people coming from Spain, the Manchester Evening News reports. The government also advised against all non-essential travel to the country due to parts of Spain experiencing spikes in coronavirus cases. TUI UK and Ireland managing director, Andrew Flintham, said: “The summer holiday period is the most important time of year for travel operators and we are therefore doing everything we can to help customers get their well-deserved holiday. “The health and safety of our customers and colleagues is always our highest priority.

. “The level of uncertainty and confusion created this week is damaging for business and customer confidence in travel.” Read More Related Articles Sign up for the Liverpool Echo's newsletters Read More Related Articles The Liverpool Echo has a free app and here's how to download it TUI cancellations - last updated July 31: • TUI holidays to mainland Spain departing on or before August 16 2020 • TUI holidays to the Balearic and Canary Islands departing on or before August 9 2020 • TUI holidays to Cyprus due to depart on or before August 14 2020 • TUI holidays to Bulgaria due to depart on or before October 31 2020 • All holidays to Florida due to depart on or before November 30 2020 • TUI River Cruises sailings travelling on or before November 25 2020 • TUI Lakes and Mountain holidays travelling on or before September 30 2020 • TUI Tours travelling up on or before October 31 2020 • Marella Cruises sailings on or before September 30 2020 and all sailings detailed below To keep up to date with traffic and travel in your local area enter your postcode below. – All sailings on Marella Celebration – Sailings on Marella Discovery 2 from Naples, Asia and the Middle East up to April 30 2021 – Sailings on Marella Dream from Palma up to May 4 2021 – Marella Discovery sailings on or before October 31 2020, and from Jamaica in December 2020 and January 2021, and sailings on 2 and 9 February 2021 – Marella Explorer 2 sailings from Naples between May 5 2021 to October 20 2021, and the 90s v 00s Sunsets cruise on September 5 2020 Top news stories Liverpool's mini property boom Women involved in big drug conspiracies Where Mersey celebs live now Jailed in July On Thursday, TUI announced plans to close nearly a third of its high street stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to cut costs and respond to changes in customer behaviour.
