Breaking News ! A popular ice cream man touched hundreds of lives during his long career in Liverpool. Kirit Desai, who was known as Chris, served the communities of Fazakerley and Walton for over 40 years. The 65-year-old, from Tuebrook, sadly died on January 12 after contracting coronavirus, leaving people across the city heartbroken. After the ECHO reported on Chris' death, hundreds more people came forward to share their favourite memories of him. On Facebook, Paul Ryan said: "Chris was such a lovely man. He always had a smile on his face. "As a family we would always get our ice from him. "When my son heard an ice cream van he would say is that Kirit and if it wasn't, he would wait until Kirit arrived. "He was just so generous, he helped me get to where I am, he just wanted to help everyone. He was extremely hard working. "Before he passed he was fit and healthy and he fitted the bathroom and kitchen floor all by himself."
