Breaking News ! Piers Morgan laid into Matt Hancock on Good Morning Britain today, as he refused to say if he regretted voting against free school meals during the pandemic. Piers quizzed the Health Secretary about the food parcels that have been sent out to families on free school meals and described it as a scandal. Mr Hancock said that he was glad the problem had been highlighted and that the company involved had apologised for the inadequate parcels. But Piers then turned to the minister's voting record and the fact that he had voted against the initiative in the House of Commons. Piers said: "The reason you're glad now lets be honest is that you got shamed into it by a young football player with a conscience. "Do you regret now, given how glad you are it's happening, do you regret voting against it?" Piers interrupted him and said: "That wasn't the question I asked if you regretted, hang on, it's a very important question because you wouldn't have done it without Marcus Rashford campaigning, do you regret voting against it, it's a yes or no?" The minister said: "Well as I say I'm really glad that it's happening now." But Piers came right back and said: "Do you regret it?" Piers again spoke over him and said: "Health Secretary you only have to say yes or no, you either regret it or you don't." But Mr Hancock again refused to answer the direct question and said: "I'm glad the situation has been resolved." And viewers watching at home loved Piers' takedown of the government minister. Shanice said: "Loved seeing Piers put it on Matt Hancock this morning, the government is an absolute mess! Families are suffering and the fact that he was against it in the beginning says it all." El said: "Piers Morgan absolutely annihilating Matt Hancock here..." And Mike Rivett said: "An absolute car crash by Matt Hancock on # gmb just now. @ piersmorgan giving him plenty of opportunity to own his decision." *GMB continues at 6am on ITV tomorrow
