Breaking News ! A man performed a sex act on himself in front of hospital nurses and patients in an A&E department. Matthew Little, 33, punched a doctor and a security guard and spat at hospital workers during the incident. Liverpool Magistrates' Court today heard he "drank far too much" while he was at a friend's house and had to be taken to Warrington Hospital by an ambulance at around 4pm on May 31 this year. Ayra Ali, prosecuting, told the court that when a female doctor came to attend him he punched her, leaving her with pain and bruising. Two of the hospital's security guards were then called due to Little's aggressive behaviour. It was then that Little, of Melville Close, Warrington punched one of the guards on the arm and said "I'm going to w***" before masturbating in front of staff and patients. Little was subsequently charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of outraging public decency. The court heard that the defendant has previous convictions but none which are relevant. Gary Heaven, defending, described the incident as a "sorry state of affairs". The court heard Little takes a "wide variety of medication" both for pain and for mental health issues. Mr Heaven explained Little has "scant recollections if any recollection at all of remembering what happened". He asked District Judge Paul Clarke to take into account Little's early guilty pleas, his remorse and his medical condition, which has resulted in him needing a wheelchair. The judge explained there were a number of aggravating factors in the case including that it happened at a hospital in May this year - amid the coronavirus lockdown - and that Little spat a number of times. Judge Clarke said: "This was a sustained assault, you were punching out at other officers. "Given the time and location and the national circumstances at the time only an immediate custodial sentence would be appropriate." Little was jailed for six months, half of which will be served in prison and half which will be served on licence. He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each of his victims.
