Breaking News ! Alex Iwobi has opened up on the funniest member of Everton's WhatsApp group as he surprised members of the club's disability sides this week. Everton In The Community staff have been regularly keeping in touch with players from all 11 disability teams over the course of the pandemic thanks to the Blues Family commitment. And recently Iwobi surprised a number of those who were involved in the club's third kit launch by joining their Zoom call. James Ditchfield, James Lang, Mollie, Daniel Daley, Kelsey Jones and Latif Ali, who each play for one of EITC's disability teams, launched Everton and hummel’s third strip in August – achieving the club’s highest ever first day sales for a third kit. The launch also marked twenty years of EITC's disability programme, with James Ditchfield being involved right from the beginning. He said: "We've got a group on Facebook and we talk every other day. "But we're all saying we don't want to talk over the group, we want to be all together kicking a football around!" Iwobi was surprised by the length of time James had been involved in the project, making clear that football is a sport that everyone should be able to get involved in. . "Yeah we kept in contact, especially we have a WhatsApp group we always message in. "You won't believe it but Richarlison makes you laugh! For someone who doesn't talk a lot, in the group he's very active! "He just sends random things that are off topic but very funny!" Iwobi’s surprise call took place during Level Playing Field’s Weeks of Action, which celebrate inclusivity in sport. Now in its 17th season, for 2021, the campaign is shining a light on what clubs Disabled Supporters’ Associations, fans and other organisations have been doing to support disabled fans who have been shielded or isolated, and to ensure access and inclusion. Jess McNally, Disability Development Coach at Everton in the Community, added: "It's just so important to keep in touch with them and make sure they are able to see their friends on a regular basis even though it's only over Zoom. "And we've been keeping our fitness up as well, doing some football in the living room! "It's definitely been important to socialise, especially with everyone being stuck in the house." Before Iwobi left the call, he had to field a question from Mollie discussing his recent challenge of eating Weetabix topped with baked beans. And it wasn't as disgusting as he initially thought it might be! The Everton star admitted: "Do you know what? It actually wasn't that bad! "After the first two bites, I could deal with it. But it's not something I would recommend!"
