Breaking News ! Thousands of people from Liverpool are desperate to get their hands on this beautiful £1million Georgian mansion in Lancashire. And it could be all yours for just £2.50. Owners Guy and Julie Vass snapped up Melling Hall in Carnforth 18 years ago - when it was a wreck. They lived in the crumbling property for eight years before spending the last decade and £200,000 restoring it to its former glory. Now that their two sons Jonny, 31, and Tim, 27, have moved out, the couple are planning to downsize to a smaller house. Following the ECHO's article last week, Guy revealed people in our region bought in excess of 10,000 tickets. However, they still have a way to go before they hit their target of a £100,000 donation to St John’s Hospice and NHS Charities Together. "Beautifully proportioned rooms mean that even the large sitting room feels cosy and welcoming. Enjoy the many walks on your doorstep and just love being in the countryside. "You could sell the house, the market here in the Lune Valley is always pretty constant and there is a high demand for houses of this quality. The beautiful three storey home has a sweeping driveway and mature gardens. (Image: Guy & Julie Vass / SWNS) "You could rent the house out as a home, you would certainly expect to get between £1,500 and £2,000 a month." The house comes with sweeping gravel driveway, huge designer kitchen, three en-suite double bedrooms and even a former butler’s sitting room.
. Guy added: "If you look at the floor plans you will see that the house is laid out over three floors. This makes it extremely flexible to use. Put in your postcode to see what the local issues are near you
"The first floor has three large en-suite bedrooms and the top floor is currently arranged as a completely self-contained loft apartment. "We originally did this for our two sons to have a bit of independence in their own space and to give us a bit of peace and quiet. "But it would work just as well for a relative to live in. Another idea is to live on the top floor yourself and rent out the ground and first floor for holidays; we did this as an experiment a few years ago and we got over £1,000 per week at peak times.
It is now being offered in a prize draw of just £2.50 per entry.

"Or you could “AirBNB” the top floor as a bit of extra income. The other major use of the loft apartment is as a business suite. "There is a lot of space up there – actually more than on each of the other two floors – ample for a few people to work together – even with social distancing." The draw will take place on September 15 and tickets can be bought via www.winacountryhall.com.
