Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker, who has a close affiliation to the Potters through his son Tyrese, claimed that Clarke, 20, is a “clever addition” who can provide Michael O’Neill’s side with much-needed creativity. Football Insider understands that the winger had a medical on Wednesday evening and will complete the relevant paperwork on Thursday morning before linking up with his new teammates. Clarke has made three substitute appearances for Spurs’ first team this season – two in the Europa League and one in the FA Cup. He has also excelled in the club’s Under-23 set up and his eight appearances in Premier League 2 have yielded two goals and one assist. When asked by Football Insider for his verdict on the transfer that is expected to be announced in the next 24 hours, Campbell said: “I think that would be a clever addition.

Clarke moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Leeds United in a near-£10million deal in July 2019.
