The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 29-year-old would flourish in the Premiership with his pace and finishing ability. However, McLeish has insisted King would be a fantastic addition regardless of who is manager.
Asked if Celtic should move for King, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “If Josh has still got his speed, then yes. He is a higher level player than the Scottish Premier League.
“We’ve said that about some other players and they haven’t quite worked out in the Scottish Premiership for one reason or another.
