Last Sport News Wilder: Sheff Utd players ‘hurting’ as winless run continues Breaking sport news
Breaking News ! Chris Wilder thinks ‘everyone at Sheff Utd is hurting’ as they fell to another defeat at the hands of West Ham. The Blades had multiple chances to score, with striker Oli McBurnie hitting the bar late in the match. George Baldock and David McGoldrick also had chances to score but failed to do so. FEATURE: Drogba was one of the last of his kind…but so much more too Hammers forward Sebastien Haller scored in the 56th-minute, hitting the ball into the top corner with a great strike. That goal proved to be the difference as Sheff Utd failed to move from the bottom of the Premier League table. Speaking after the match, Wilder said: “We have got to keep going. No one is going to help you. It’s ruthless and cut-throat. No one is bothered about us apart from ourselves and our supporters so we have to keep going. “I take responsibility for everything, we are all hurting. We have to pick ourselves up and go again. I’m the leader and I am the one they look at. My attitude is a very positive one going into this week.
. I thought we started off in good fashion, positive, but in a game which was always going to be tight and was decided by a fabulous finish.
“I’d rather not get beat, but I’d rather get beat 1-0 than 5-0. The Premier League is ruthless, it punishes you if you don’t show that quality. When we need that little bit we can’t seem to find it to turn the tide in games.
“We have to keep going. It’s a rollercoaster football club. At the moment things aren’t going our way but we must stick together and go to West Brom and see if we can get a result there.
“I’ve seen enough [from the players] right the way through. I’m honest in what I’m looking at, there wasn’t much in the game – they found the finish and we haven’t. Nobody gets anything handed out to them, we just need to keep going.”
Wilder will be hoping his team can pick up a win in their next match against West Brom.
