Breaking News ! A dramatic rescue has been caught on camera by coastguard crews in Cornwall. A man in his 30s had to be winched by helicopter from Rusey Beach, near Bude, yesterday. Video released by HM Coastguard shows the casualty, who had a suspected shoulder injury, dangling high above the water. Sharing the footage, a spokesman said: "When things go wrong as they sometimes will, the search and rescue family will respond. "Yesterday, a man whose day changed after suffering a shoulder injury at Rusey Beach, won't forget how our promise to respond to those in need was kept. "The HM Coastguard helicopter crew from Newquay played their part as did Bude Coastguard Rescue Team, RNLI, South Western Ambulance Service and NHS Foundation Trust." On Twitter, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) added: "A man in his 30s had to be winched by our helicopter with a suspected shoulder injury from Rusey Beach #Cornwall." Guidance issued by the MCA earlier this summer states: "In England, now more than ever people need to respect our coastline. "Whether you’re local or not, experienced around the water or a novice, the sea can still catch you out.

. Social distancing must be observed. If you get into trouble call 999 and ask for the coastguard and we will come to your aid. "But coronavirus hasn’t gone away and we all need to follow the rules. Remember your choices might put people, including yourself and frontline responders, at risk. Take extra care in these extraordinary times. #StayAlert "Don’t forget though, in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, nothing has changed. Give the coast a miss. #StayHomeSaveLives."
