Breaking News ! One person has sadly died in a Cornwall hospital after testing positive for coronavirus - making it the first Covid-related death in three weeks. The patient's death happened last Sunday (April 4) at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske, Truro, which takes the total number of fatalities connected to the pandemic at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust (RCHT) hospitals to 201. The last Covid-related death at RCHT - which also runs West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance and St Michael's Hospital in Hayle - was on March 18, making it the first in three weeks. The death rate across the South West also continues to fall.
. So far there have been 305 deaths in Cornwall however none registered in the Isles of Scilly. Of those, more than 250 people died during 2020 in Cornwall from the coronavirus which data revealed at the beginning of the year. More news from around Cornwall:
