Breaking News ! The number of patients who have died from coronavirus in hospitals across Cheshire has remained the same in the past 24 hours. Latest figures published today (August 1) by NHS England show that the hospital coronavirus death toll for the county remains at 722. It comes as all four NHS trusts in our area did not register any new Covid-19 deaths overnight. The figures were positive for most of this week as for seven days running all Cheshire NHS Trusts did not report any new deaths of patients who tested positive for the virus. However one person sadly succumbed to the virus, which was announced yesterday, breaking the six-day streak of no new deaths. Now the trusts ar eback to zero coroanvirus patent deaths in the past 24 hours.
. The Countess of Chester Hospitals NHS Trust recorded no new deaths in the past 24 hours, however they still have the highest mortality rate for coronavirus in the county - at 227 deaths from Covid-19. Mid Cheshire Hospitals, which runs Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, have lost a total of 213 patients to the virus. While the total number of deaths in the Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust remains at 136.
There were no Covid-19 deaths recorded in North West Hospitals over the past 24 hours, with just four reported in England in total.
