Breaking News ! Two new Travelodge hotels are opening in Bristol, including one in Avonmouth, as the hotel chain looks to attract people holidaying in this country in the post-pandemic world. The new hotels, opening this summer, will create 40 jobs across the city. Travelodge is opening 17 new hotels across the country in 2021, as part of a £175 million post-pandemic investment, and two of those will be in or around Bristol. The hotels, in Emersons Green and in Avonmouth, are expected to open this summer, and will mean there will be a total of seven Travelodge hotels in the Bristol area. The Avonmouth Travelodge will be the only hotel of its kind in BS11, and will have 81 rooms, an on-site restaurant, and is being constructed at the Capital Industrial Park, close to Avonmouth Docks. The firm is currently hiring 25 people to work at the new Avonmouth hotel, under new manager Irina Knightley. At Emersons Green, the new Travelodge is on a site close to the M4 between the Bristol and Bath Science Park and the Emerald Business Park. The hotel here has created 15 jobs, will have 90 rooms and also an on-site restaurant.

“It’s great to mark coming out of lockdown with the announcement that we are extending our Bristol network by opening a further two hotels and bringing more SuperRooms to the city, said district manager Huw Huckridge. “These two new Travelodge’s are part of the 17 new hotels we are opening across the UK this year and will boost our Bristol presence to seven hotels. “Bristol is growing at pace and there is a shortage of good quality and low cost accommodation in the up and coming districts within the city. "Our two new hotels in Emersons Green and Avonmouth will help to fill this gap and be a magnet to attract new visitors to the area.
"This is also good news for both local economics as research shows our customers will spend on average double their room rate during their stay with local businesses which equates to an annual multi-million spend,” he added. “This year is predicted to be the year of the Staycation and we are working around the clock to get all of our hotels open by May 17, so that we can welcome back our leisure customers. "We will also officially open Emersons Green and Avonmouth Travelodge hotels in time for the summer season,” he added.
