Breaking News ! Pontins has pushed back the reopening date of its holiday parks. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said holiday accommodation can accept visitors from July 4, as the coronavirus lockdown continues to ease. Pontins has six destinations, the closest to Bristol being those at Weston-super-Mare's Sand Bay and Burnham-on-Sea's Brean Sands. The resort operator initially said its holiday parks would all be closed until 2021, before announcing last month they would reopen on July 6. But Pontins has now postponed the relaunch to July 17. In a statement on its website, it says: "Pontins Holiday Parks and Sand Bay & Pakefield Holiday Villages are reopening from July 17, 2020, in line with current Government advice. "At this time we can only offer self-catered breaks.
