Breaking News ! Residents on a Bristol street received an amusing letter from a neighbour apologising for a "performance rehearsal" which sounded like "grinding un-oiled machinery from the industrial revolution". The letter has amused people in Montpelier after it was posted through letterboxes on February 27, following a complaint made to the household. A picture of the note was posted in a Montpelier Facebook group, where the resident's honesty has been applauded by members of the community. One person wrote: "I really like this! Isn’t it kinda how we’re all feeling at times! "I know I’ve had the occasional blowout with music because outside noise has been too much, and then returned to headphones or silence. I’ve no idea how bad the issue was, but love the honesty and humanity behind this letter!" In response, the man who posted the picture of the letter said: "Yes, but wasn't actually music, more the noise of grinding un-oiled machinery from the industrial revolution! Made babies scream and dogs howl! Even the Montpellier Pheasants and Perigine Falcon fled to Easton! was a difficult thing to hear but so appreciate the letter afterwards." The letter reads: "Dear Neighbours, "This comes by way of my sincere apologies for the noise coming from my place today. "We were rehearsing for what was supposed to be a low-key performance event this evening and really didn't appreciate how high the noise levels were, until it was brought to our attention. "Entirely at fault here, I assure you it won't happen again.

. "In this we failed, so, hopefully we live and learn. "Thank you for your patience." Another nearby resident who clearly heard the rehearsal wrote: "We thought it was the next phase of the apocalypse. Appreciated the note." Someone else chipped in with: "This letter is so kind and courteous. Wish iId caught some tunes."
