Breaking News ! A man convicted of attacks on emergency workers has been jailed. Recep Tuncel, 30, of no fixed address, denied wrongdoing. But was convicted by justices after a trial on August 10. Magistrates convicted him of assaulting South West Ambulance Service paramedic Naomi Malcolm at Dove Street, Bristol, on August 7. He was also convicted of assaulting Avon and Somerset Constabulary PC McKimm at Dove Street, Bristol, on August 7.

The said the reason for the jail term was because of the offences included assaults on public workers trying their best to assist members of the public. Tuncel, who did not attend court for sentence and was unrepresented, was also ordered to pay a £1,081 penalty. This comprised of: costs of £775 to the Crown Prosecution Service; £150 compensation to emergency workers involved and a £156 victim surcharge.
