Breaking News ! What’s your assessment of that match? It was a cruel ending in many ways at the end of the game. First and foremost, our thoughts go out to the Barnsley centreback. He didn’t look in a good way at the end so fingers crossed that he’s ok. It doesn’t look clear enough to me to give a penalty, I’ve got to be honest with you. I don’t like having a question of a referee but it didn’t look clear enough to give a penalty at the very last kick of the game. But we have to get on with that. Having conceded so early as we did, I thought we responded ok. We took a while to get to grips with the game, although we created two good chances in the first half. We played the game on our terms and scored two good goals after halftime and then you’re in control of the game. We had opportunities to get the third goal and take the game away from them. When you don’t do that, you’re always at the mercy of whatever – the referee’s decision or an equaliser. In fairness, it’s probably the first punch on the nose we’ve taken in five games. Now it’s about how we respond. That’s the Championship, we’ve got another game in three days so we can’t get too down about it. But it’s all about the response now. The penalty decision looked very close to the edge of the box as well – is that something that struck you and have you spoken to the referee at all about any of it? Yes, I spoke to him leaving the pitch. I asked him why the linesman wasn’t able to help him out because he didn’t consult the linesman at all. He’s made his decision, you’ve got to get on with it. I think it was foul, Callum’s caught him late, but I just don’t think it was clear enough to be a penalty. But I’m not going to make too much of a big deal about it. I just think it was a big decision to make. Yes, with how many real clear cut chances they’ve had in the game.

. It doesn’t matter if it was fair or not. We’ve drawn 2-2, simple as that. Mentally and physically now, we’ve got to get ready for a big one on Tuesday against Neil Warnock’s team. We know what threat they’re going to pose us so we’ve got to be ready for it. Have you spoken to Callum O’Dowda at all because obviously he came on and he’s only had a few minutes at the end, did some great stuff at the opposition end with holding up the ball and then given away the penalty at the end? Yes, it’s a split second decision. I thought when he came on the pitch, he looked really bright and really lively. He’s through on goal, in fairness, when their lad’s hacked him down on the halfway mark or ten yards inside their half. I thought he looked really sharp. Of course he’s down because he’s the one who’s given away the penalty but it’s a split second decision. It’s no problem. Andreas Weimann of Bristol City cuts a dejected figure (Image: Robbie Stephenson/JMP) You didn’t have Dan Bentley today. Is it right he picked up a neck injury? Spot on, yes. It’s just a slight neck injury so fingers crossed. He’s being assessed over the weekend. I spoke to him briefly this morning but we’ll see how he holds up for Tuesday. Not long term though? No, I wouldn’t like to think so. Bristol City top stories Palmer signs for Swansea on loan Why selling Morrell was so hard for City Milan Djuric on a difficult spell in BS3 Full Dean Holden transcript No Jay Dasilva today – is he ok? Jay’s fine. It was just a decision and I’ve spoken to him prior to naming the subs this morning. It was just without Chris Brunt in there, we knew that Callum could provide cover at left wing-back and in that number 8 position instead of Jay. Is this the stage where the Championship picks up now with all the midweek games? Yes, seven games in 21 days is a bit mad after a two week break but that’s the Championship. We’re going to get a taste of everything over this next six, seven games and then we’ll know where we’re at in terms of how we’re going to go on this season.
