MetiNews.Com - The GP patient survey gives people the chance to give feedback on the care given by their GP practice
Breaking News ! Eighty two per cent of patients across Bristol have rated their GP services as very good or fairly good – according to a national survey. The GP Patient Survey, which gives patients the opportunity to feed back on their experience of the care and services they receive from their local GP practice, was conducted in early 2020, with the results now published. Almost 26,000 patients across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area responded to the survey, which is carried out by Ipsos MORI and included questions on appointments, out of hours’ services, online services as well as overall experience. Across the area, 96 per cent of patients had confidence and trust in the healthcare professionals they saw, while 94 per cent felt involved in decisions about care and treatment. Dr Geeta Iyer, local GP and Clinical Lead for Primary Care Provider Development at Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire CCG, said: “Improving and strengthening primary care services is a high priority for us and it is more important than ever that this continues in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. “During the past year our primary care networks have made great progress, bringing groups of practices together with other community services to provide co-ordinated and joined up care for people in their local areas.
. “The results of the survey are a testament to all the hard work of everyone who works in primary care, in both clinical and non-clinical roles, who continue to deliver high quality GP services for our population.”
