MetiNews.Com - Its windows have been covered with chipboard since the start of January
Breaking News ! A restaurant in Bristol has allayed fears that it has closed down after it was boarded up earlier this month. The windows of Broken Dock in Millennium Promenade were covered with chipboard on January 3, causing passers-by to believe it has become the latest casualty of the coronavirus pandemic. But the general manager of the site, which is loved for its harbourside views, has said it's a temporary closure to allow for renovation work to take place. Owen Ashwell said: "We're just having a small refurbishment inside before hopefully reopening next weekend. "The bi-fold doors need fixing as we've had some issues with them and we're also getting the drainage sorted as we've had problems with flooding in the past.
." Are 24 hours vaccinations the way forward?
Broken Dock opened in 2017 and serves modern British food "with a twist". Last year it defended its decision to sell alcohol for takeaway on the Friday of the May bank holiday, which led to crowds gathering in the harbourside area, reported passers-by. Follow Broken Dock on Instagram for the latest updates on the work, including the exact reopening date.
