MetiNews.Com - Shoppers only have five weeks to get their hands on the bargains
Breaking News ! Bristol's Debenhams will reopen next week for a massive 70 per cent off closing down sale. Bosses of the retail giant have said stores will welcome customers back from April 12 - when there will be up to 70 per cent off fashion and home - and up to 50 per cent off beauty items. But shoppers will have to move fast, because the store will only be open for up to five weeks, depending on how stocks last, reports Manchester Evening News. It's still not been revealed who will move into the prominent Horsefair shop once Debenhams staff vacate. Steve Bluff, manager of Broadmead BID, which oversees retail in the city centre, said it is up to the "landlords and planners to help creatively shape the next stage" of the building. Debenhams announced in December that its administrators had begun the liquidation process. . "The decision to move forward with a closure programme has been carefully assessed and, while we remain hopeful that alternative proposals for the business may yet be received, we deeply regret that circumstances force us to commence this course of action. "We are very grateful for the efforts of the management team and staff who have worked so hard throughout the most difficult of circumstances to keep the business trading.
"We would also like to thank the landlords, suppliers and partners who have continued to work with Debenhams through this turbulent period and can reassure them that all contractual obligations entered into in the administration period will be met in full." A massive sale was launched online, with discounts up to 70 per cent off, following the announcement. But from next Monday, shoppers will also be able to visit stores in person as more lockdown restrictions are eased on April 12.
