The midfielder has grown leaps and bounds this season, showing his importance to the team under both Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel. There were some doubts regarding Mount's importance when Tuchel took over, but he has quickly made himself indispensable in the German coach's setup. Cundy believes Mount can take over as club captain after Cesar Azpilicueta.
. I think a lot of people don't watch enough of him and may just look at his work ethic and think that's all he's got," Cundy told talkSPORT.
"He's got the plus and bags of ability… He's getting better. We've haven't seen the finished article, but he's the Chelsea captain in waiting and I think he could be England captain one day as well."
