Breaking News ! The UK coronavirus hospital death toll has risen by 108 - the highest Saturday increase in months - after new deaths were recorded in each nation. Each nation's health body has shared grim statistics of the number of deaths they have recorded. NHS England reported an additional 86 COVID-19 hospital deaths today, occurring over 13 dates. 60 were reported last Saturday. There have been a further 674 cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in Wales, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 34,679. Public Health Wales said five further deaths had been reported, with the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic rising to 1,708. In Scotland, 1,167 new cases (people positive) were reported, giving a total of 46,399. 15 new deaths were reported, giving a total of 2,609.
. Two new deaths were reported, giving a total of 610. Yesterday, the Government said that, as of 9am on Friday, there had been a further 15,650 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 689,257.
The Government also said a further 136 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, as of Friday. This brings the UK total to 43,429. Separate figures published by the UK's statistics agencies show there have now been 58,500 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
