The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the high street, with chain restaurants like Frankie & Benny's already collapsing. And retailers like Laura Ashley have also gone bust, with jobs lost as a result. TM Lewin has confirmed shops will close with sales moving online.

In a statement, Resolve, which has been hired to restructure the business, said: "This acquisition secured the future of the brand at a time of unprecedented uncertainty within the retail sector. "After considerable review, and due to the many issues currently being experienced by high street retailers, it has been determined that the future of the TM Lewin brand will be online-only." Approximately 650 of the company's 700 staff have been furloughed under the government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. It boasts 66 stores across the UK.
