Breaking News ! Louts vandalised a police car left empty as officers checked on a vulnerable person. The patrol vehicle's windows, blue lights and windscreen were destroyed by yobs who set upon it in Payton Road, Handsworth, at around 8.10pm on Wednesday, January 13. It happened after the officers went into an address to ask about a person they were concerned for. The damaged vehicle had to be taken off the road for repairs with emergency services already stretched to breaking point due to the pandemic.
. West Midlands Police appealing to anyone with information or CCTV of the attack to make contact.
Suptt Gareth Morris, who tweeted a picture of the car, said: “Extremely annoyed - whilst officers were in Payton Road, Handsworth, last night checking on someone’s welfare, our car was maliciously damaged including blue lights and roof. “If you know anything please contact us quoting log 2944 of 13/1. "A car off the road puts people at risk”, he added.
