Breaking News ! Piers Morgan has once again taken aim at Dan Walker over the TV presenter's failure to hold a Cabinet minister to account today. On Tuesday, June 30, Piers exploded with rage after seeing Dan's interview on BBC Breakfast with Health Secretary Matt Hancock. Piers raged at Dan - telling him to "get in there, for goodness sake" - and slamming the BBC's "outrageous" questions. Mr Hancock appeared on Breakfast to be interviewed by Walker over the government's handling of the coronavirus crisis. He and his government peers have boycotted Piers' ITV1 daytime TV show Good Morning Britain for almost three months. Well, it turns out it has been three years in the making, as back in 2017, Dan told Radio Times: "He hates that we still get double the audience every morning, despite all the money they’ve spent on GMB." Piers famously needled Dan over his BBC salary after his pay emerged - and was dwarfed by colleague Gary Lineker. When asked to come onto GMB to discuss his wages, Dan told Piers: "Would love to but I'm a bit busy presenting the nation's number 1 breakfast show with @louiseminchin Have a good one." The pair routinely clash over the viewing figures of Breakfast and GMB, with Piers firing back: "Is that the one losing viewers at the same rate we're gaining them?" Dan told Radio Times: "In the noise that circulates around him, I don’t care what he says about me, only when he pokes fun at Breakfast, or has a pop at Carol Kirkwood or at our viewers." And then a year later, Piers tweeted: "Imagine presenting a breakfast show where even your own staff have no clue who you are." The tweet in 2018 came after a caption error saw Dan called 'Charlie' by the Breakfast production desk. Dan tweeted: "Imagine presenting a breakfast show where your replacement gets more viewers than you Mon 5th Feb (your last Monday) average GMB audience 664,000 Mon 12th Feb (1st one without you) 703,000 #Awkward#BringBackBen#TheGoodShephard#Tears4Piers Nice to have you back" Piers Morgan (left) ranted about Dan Walker (right) and his interviewing technique towards Matt Hancock on BBC Breakfast (Image: GMB | ITV) The feud, which seems to have been going on for years, is rather entertaining for fans of either show, as the presenters rip into each other in a lively game of taunting. Following the figure release, Dan wanted to thoroughly thank all those who tuned into the BBC over ITV.
. We really appreciate you tuning in, particularly at the moment, and making us the number 1 breakfast show on TV - by some distance. Thanks for watching. @TVNaga01 & Charlie are back tomorrow from 6am." Alongside the post, he shared a picture of the whole BBC Breakfast team to mark their triumph, but Dan only had an hour to revel in the glory before Piers took a swipe he almost certainly anticipated. Taunting Dan's win, Piers joked: "Factcheck: a much smaller distance than when Dan joined... In fact, this week we closed the gap to the smallest distance ever." He added a friendly warning: "Please don't get fired mate!"
Piers Morgan sparked concerns over his appearance
On June 30, Piers raged at Dan's questioning of Hancock, shouting: "There couldn't be anything more meaningful or significant than the number of people being tested for coronavirus in this country. "And for the Health Secretary to get away with that blather on the BBC is utterly shocking. "Get back on this programme, Mr Health Secretary, and face some proper questions."
