Breaking News ! More Tamworth school pupils are self-isolating after two students tested positive for Covid-19. Flax Hill Junior Academy in Chestnut Avenue and Amington Heath Primary School and Nursery each confirmed a case. Affected bubbles will not return until September 24 at Amington and September 28 at Flax Hill. Classrooms were being deep cleaned and the schools insisted “safety of our pupils and staff is our number one priority”. The schools issued identical statements. Flax Hill's read: “We can confirm that one child has had a positive test for Covid-19. Flax Hill Junior Academy. (Image: Google) “In line with the DfE and Public Health England’s advice, all children and staff in this bubble are now self-isolating, returning to school on September 28. A deep clean of the classrooms is also taking place as a further precautionary measure. “In the meantime, we will revert to providing blended learning for all pupils whilst they are at home, so that they can continue their learning if they feel well enough to do so. “The safety of our pupils and staff is our number one priority and we have written to parents to inform them and to reassure them of our processes and practices.

. A teacher and a Year 8 student were self-isolating along with all other pupils in the bubble. The Year 7 bubble was also sent home with a pupil awaiting the results of a test.
