Breaking News ! A man was "lucky to be alive" after having his throat slashed in a brutal attack in Birmingham. Police said he was attacked at an address in the city centre on Monday afternoon, February 22, leaving him with "life-changing" injuries. He suffered stab wounds to his neck and arm in the incident which took place at premises in William Booth Lane at 3.45pm. Emergency services were called to the address, where they found a man in his 40s with injuries to his neck and arm. Paramedics were called and he was taken to hospital but his injuries were not life-threatening. A second man, aged 49, who was at the address was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and also taken to hospital for treatment. . "The man in his 40s was taken to hospital with injuries to his neck and arm. After being assessed, these are not believed to be life-threatening. "A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but taken to hospital for treatment. He will be taken into custody for questioning in due course."
Police who responded to the incident tweeted details earlier - saying it was a brutal attack. In a tweet they said: "He was very lucky to be alive." Officers also revealed he had suffered "life-changing injuries" as a result of the attack.
