Breaking News ! A man 'wearing a thong' was reportedly arrested by police in Birmingham City centre on Friday night.  West Midlands Police were called to the Cutlass Court block of flats in Granville Street, city centre, just after 10pm on Friday (July 31). They were responding to reports that a man had 'forced entry into the flat and was searching the wardrobes'. A witness told BirminghamLive they saw police escort a man out of the building 'wearing a black lacy bra and woman's G-string'. Police cars in Granville Street (Image: Handout) West Midlands Police said a man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in police custody. A nearby resident, who doesn't want to be named, said: "We first heard the sirens and the police cars rushing down Granville Street, but thought nothing of it, being in the city centre and there being incidents all the time. "Then we heard more and more sirens so stopped to take a look out over our balcony and saw four police cars and a small van were already parked outside the apartment block.

. - in total around 25 officers were on the scene and ran into the Cutlass Court apartment blocks." The man said about 15 minutes later police led a man out in handcuffs. "What was shocking was his choice of attire -  an open-buttoned shirt, black lacy bra and thong." A police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested after officers were called to Granville Street, Birmingham at 10pm yesterday (31 July). "It was reported a man forced entry into a flat and searched the wardrobes. "He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in police custody today (1 August)."
