Breaking News ! Thomas Hitzlsperger has reflected on his life-changing move to Aston Villa and the heartbreaking manner of his departure. The popular German spent five years at Villa after joining the club from the Bayern Munich Academy in 2000 when he was just 18. Living in Sutton Coldfield, Hitzlsperger immersed himself in the local community and looks back on his spell in the West Midlands with great fondness. “I moved to Birmingham to become a professional football player, but suddenly you realise that this is more than a career.
