Breaking News ! A swathe of high street giants are set to keep stores shuttered from April 12 despite the push from the government to get non-essential retailers open. The likes of IKEA and Primark  have announced the reopening dates of April 12, 2021, as the government has confirmed step two of the roadmap allows non-essential retailers to start operating again. But a swathe of companies have already confirmed stores will stay shuttered in April despite having the green light to welcome customers once more.

. ASOS and Boohoo both swooped to acquire the doomed brands under the Arcadia umbrella, with further jobs lost at other companies, including the likes of Hays Travel and Prezzo, which is shutting a Birmingham eatery. Mirror Online reports over 70,000 workers have lost roles due to the pandemic's restrictions. These are all of the major high street brands that won't be able to reopen all of their shops on April 12: Topshop - closed all stores (Oxford Street flagship future still unknown), now online only Dorothy Perkins - closed all stores, now online only Evans - closed all stores, now online only Wallis - closed all stores, now online only Topman - closed all stores, now online only Burton - closed all stores, now online only Miss Selfridge - closed all stores, now online only Debenhams - closed 118 department stores Paperchase - closing 27 stores Jaeger - reducing store count Edinburugh Woolen Mill - reducing store count Bonmarché - reducing store count Hays Travel - reducing store count Prezzo - reducing store count
