Breaking News ! A severe fire ripped through a Tipton scrapyard in Golds Hill overnight. Around 30 firefighters were called to Bagnall Street where crews found 40 cars alight in the early hours of this morning (April 9). Nearby residents were advised to shut their doors and windows as the team tackled the huge blaze. Six fire engines attended the scene and a picture taken by the crew shows thick plumes of grey smoke billowing into the midnight sky as firefighters worked to put out the flames.

. "Six fire appliances are in attendance and we were in attendance in five minutes. Those in the immediate vicinity are asked to close their doors and windows as a precaution." The team used four main jets and six breathing apparatus at the scene.
