Breaking News ! The family of a barmaid are desperate to get their daughter back from Spain after a crushing cancer diagnosis. 26-year-old Laura Boon, of Weston Coyney, Stoke-on-Trent, was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the start of the year. The British barmaid has been stuck in a hospital since August and has been apart from her son, Memphis. Her son has been living with her grandson since she was stuck in the Alicante hospital. The family are desperate to bring the 26-year-old back home for treatment,  Stoke-on-Trent Live reports. But they have been told it will cost £15,000 to fly Laura back because a specialist plane staffed by a medical crew is required. The former Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College student moved to Spain in 2012 and is living in Benidorm. Her family is desperate to get her back Mum Jane Boon is at her daughter's bedside in Spain where she is having treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy. "Having a little boy changed things for her in Spain. She had been thinking about it for a couple of years but when she knew she was poorly she wanted to do it even more. “All she wants to do is come home, even though she is quite ill. “Laura so desperately wants to come home and she hasn’t seen Memphis since July. She wants to fight this because she has got a little boy. “It’s terrible to see her go through this. She has always been so fit and healthy and enjoying life. She adores her little boy and it is so young to lose your mum at six. “He knows what is going on and it does upset him. He has been so good and has started back at school and is doing well but he just wants to see his mum. “It would mean everything to have her back. She is still my baby and her little boy needs her. She has got all the family support and so many friends. “She is sedated at the moment to make her comfortable.

. “We’ve worked since we left school and college. We’ve saved and given the children what we can. "I haven't got a bottomless pit of money. All of this has taken its toll on us financially. Sometimes you feel like you need a bit of help.” The fund-raising page has been set up by long-term friend Sammy-Jo Rothwell. The 27-year-old student nurse, from Meir, said: “Up until January she was so healthy and then just got struck down by it. It breaks my heart. “Even though she lived in Spain we still made the effort to see each other and talk all the time. She is over there right now and I can’t help her. “I’d give anything to hug her. For the last few weeks a lot of us have had to deal with the fact that we might not be able to again, it’s heart-breaking.” Family and friends are hoping to raise £15,000 The online appeal - which launched on Tuesday - has already raised more than £3,500. Sammy-Jo added: “It would mean everything to me, her family and her little boy to get her back. "It’s a hard thing to process that at just 26 years old you have to think of somebody’s life ending. “We need to know that we are doing everything we can. We can’t just sit around and feel helpless. "We have already contacted the private company that will fly her over and we know they can get it done as soon as we have the money. “I’ve been crying my eyes out because people have been donating generously. We are all incredibly overwhelmed.” To support the online appeal click  here.
