Breaking News ! A woman was conned out of money by two thieves who called at her Worcester home pretending to be gas engineers. Two men told the elderly victim they needed to carry out checks inside her house in Sharpe Road. But one diverted her into the kitchen and the other headed to the lounge. She discovered cash was missing after they left. It happened between 6.45pm and 7pm on Monday June 22. Police appealed for witnesses and warned other residents to be on their guard in case they struck again. One of the men was white, aged between 30 to 40 and had short dark hair. He was clean shaven and was smartly dressed. He had a Worcester accent and wore a blue lanyard around his neck.

. Investigating officer, Det Con John Kerr, said: “This was understandably a traumatic experience for the victim and we are appealing for any information relating to the incident.
