Breaking News ! A prominent drug dealer who was 'prepared to use lethal force' to protect his illicit business has been ordered to pay back nearly £150,000 of his ill-gotten gains. Walsall crook Mohammed Osman was banged up for 15 years in September when police uncovered a loaded handgun, thousands of pounds in cash and £67,000 of heroin at his Beacon Street-based home. He was arrested at 4.45am after a search of his kitchen exposed a Bruni Mod 9mm self-loading pistol - loaded with seven rounds in the magazine − hidden under the oven fan. Around 2.5kg of heroin was also found in the kitchen alongside a can of CS spray, illegal to possess under the Firearms Act. The police operation also targeted a house in Moncrieffe Street, Walsall, linked to Osman, where four men aged 18 to 30 were detained and £36,000 in cash recovered. This cash was seized from his house under the Proceeds of Crime Act (Image: WMP) Following his conviction, West Midlands Police started proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act . And at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday (June 26) cops secured a Confiscation Order against him for £146,356.68. A spokesman for the force said: "We’ve already taken almost £46,000 from him − that’s the cash found at both addresses − and the rest of the debt will hang over him when he is eventually freed from prison.

." Detective Constable Rob Gough from our Economic Crime Unit, said: “We’ve delved back into Osman’s bank records over several years to identify any suspicious credits. "He was not able to account for deposits totalling £33,411 − and as he can’t show that money has been accrued legitimately it’s considered ill-gotten gains through crime or drug dealing. We found 2.5kg of heroin valued at £67,000 inside his home in April 2019 (Image: WMP) "The total value of the drugs we recovered was just over £67,000 − which means the Confiscation Order we secured was more than £146,000. "Our investigation isn’t over and we will continue probing any money or assets linked to him. It’s important we show that crime doesn’t pay and that we will work to strip offenders of cash or property they have gained through crime." Speaking at the time of the jail sentence, Investigating Officer Detective Constable Naz Sandhu, said: "Osman is a dangerous drug dealer and one who was prepared to defend his criminal business with lethal force. "The gun and bullets were examined by ballistics experts − the gun had been modified to fire live rounds and the bullets were found to be homemade Luger rounds with live primers." Osman had previously admitted possessing a prohibited handgun and ammunition, possessing drugs with intent to supply and CS spray. West Midlands Police can be contacted by calling 101 or via Live Chat at WMP Online; alternatively call the independent charity  Crimestoppers  anonymously on 0800 555 111.
