Breaking News ! Protesters in Birmingham city centre have been condemned after a large number gathered at the height of the coronavirus crisis today. 17 new deaths were recorded in Birmingham and Midlands hospitals as the UK death tally rose by 108 today. In England, 86 deaths were reported by health authorities. But in Birmingham city centre, demonstrators gathered to protest outside a city centre branch of Primark. BirminghamLive readers reacted with incredulity at their actions - despite having sympathy with their cause. The large number gathered as part of global protests against police brutality in Nigeria. Crowds were seen outside Primark near the entrance to the Bullring on Saturday lunchtime (October 17), waving placards demanding an end to police misconduct and reform in Nigeria.
