Breaking News ! Stab horror Former  West Bromwich Albion  loan star Andre Wisdom has been hospitalised after a violent robbery. The 27-year-old - now at Derby County - was reportedly knifed as he got out of his car in Toxteth, Liverpool, on Sunday, June 28,  The Sun report. Wisdom spent the 2014-15 campaign on-loan at The Hawthorns and, just hours after starring for the Rams on Saturday, was attacked while visiting family. A Derby County spokesman said: "Derby County Football Club can confirm that Andre Wisdom has been the victim of an unprovoked assault and robbery. "Merseyside police are investigating and the club will focus its efforts on supporting Andre and his family. Therefore we will not be making any further comment at this time." The defender, who played 24 times for Albion, moved Derby from Liverpool on a permanent deal in 2017. As well as West Brom, Wisdom has enjoyed loan stints at Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg. Wisdom remains in a stable condition and is fully expected to make a recovery. The future West Bromwich Albion have tied down two of their most-talented academy stars on pro contracts. Under-18 midfield duo Finley Thorndike and Toby King have put pen to paper to sign their first professional deals. The teenagers have been ripping it up for Peter Gilbert's under-18s with  Albion  rewarding Thorndike's and King's fine form in blue and white stripes. Attack-minded Thorndike, 18, has scored eight goals from 16 appearances this season. As for King, the youngster - signed from West Ham in 2018 - has two assists from 16 games this term. That aforementioned charge took a hit on Friday when Albion fell victim to direct top six rivals Brentford, and Bilic wasn’t pleased with the manner in which sunk to their sixth defeat of the season. He expects improvement quickly at Hillsborough, yet in the meantime he’s been left heartened by the response that his players have delivered. “I wanted to have a meeting with the players this morning before training,” Bilic revealed. “I wanted to tell them how I feel, how I see the situation now, how I see the game against Brentford and how I see the game in front of us which is the most important thing. “We are hurt. We are hurt, but at the same time I expected and I have seen a very positive reaction from the boys. “It’s not a cliché, we can’t wait for the game on Wednesday. The result is the result - Brentford away, you can go there and lose 3-0, but you have to ask more questions of them. “You have to impose yourself and affect the game more than we did. We weren’t happy about it - we have to do better than that and the guys agree, of course they agree.” Read More Related Articles Slaven Bilic holds key meeting with West Brom players after Brentford defeat Punished West Brom have been handed a promotion boost after The FA dished out a three-game ban to Fulham bad boy Aleksander Mitrovic. The hot-headed striker, scorer of 23 goals this term, has been found guilty of elbowing Leeds defender Ben White in Saturday's encounter at Elland Road. The Londoners' form has dipped since Project Restart with their latest 3-0 defeat to Leeds pushing Scott Parker's men back to fifth in the Championship - seven points adrift of  Albion  in second. Mitrovic, meanwhile, lead in with his elbow during an off-the-ball incident with Leeds' White just two minutes in. Referee Tony Harrington missed the clash but, today, Mitrovic subsequently admitted violent conduct following an investigation by the FA. "The striker admitted his behaviour in or around the third minute of the match was in breach of FA Rule E1(a) and constituted violent conduct, in an incident which was not seen by match officials but was caught on video." The news is a big blow for Fulham's promotion hopes, with Parker's side set to be without their goal-getter for the upcoming matches against QPR, Birmingham City and play-off rivals Nottingham Forest.
