Breaking News ! Reading's 100 per cent start to the season came to an end as they played out a goalless draw with Middlesbrough. Lucas Joao, Yakou Meite and Ovie Ejaria all had chances for Royals but they had to settle for a point in a scrappy game. Here is what we made of each player's performance at the Riverside Stadium. Rafael 7 Forced into several saves early on with some looping balls causing him to be a full stretch to concede corners as he helped them over the bar. Didn't have a great deal to do during the rest of the game. Holmes 7 Kept his place in the starting 11 despite Esteves' arrival. Enjoyed a lot of space going forward but his crossing was rather mixed. Kept things tight defensively. Moore 7 Had to play half the match on a yellow card after a foul right at the start of the second half. Solid overall though and made a brilliant clearance from a Howson shot in the latter stages. Morrison 8 Marshalled the defence superbly and got his head on so many balls Boro threw into the box. Got away with a loose clearance early on though when he nearly headed into his own net. Richards 6 Tidy on the ball and had a few nice combinations with Ejaria and Meite down the left flank. Could have maybe offered a bit more going forward and had a few defensive lapses. Ovie Ejaria (Image: Getty Images) Laurent 6 Shielded the defence really well and provided an outlet for a short pass when the team played out from the back. Skied a shot when well placed in the first half. Rinomhota 7 Covered a lot of ground as ever but was a bit too keen for the referee's liking early on as he gave away a few needless fouls in the centre of the pitch. Olise 5 Did well to make room for a low shot midway through the first half which forced the keeper to get down low to his left to save. Tidy in possession overall but not creative enough.

. Played on the left side of the front three for the majority of the game but struggled to get into the game. Went close with a rasping left footed effort after a well worked team move though and a fired a 25 yard effort wide late on. Meite 6 Solid all-round display from the attacker who did his fair share of defensive work too by tracking back well to help out Holmes. Shooting was rather erratic though in the final third. Joao 5 Restored to the line-up having recovered from a dislocated shoulder. Had a few good chances to score, including a free header from a corner and a long range effort but both failed to truly test the goalkeeper. (Image: PA) SUBS Semedo 5 Got the final 20 minutes in place of Joao. Gave the side some energy and drive. Puscas 4 Replaced Meite for the final 15. Ball bounced off him too much. Aluko 4 Came on for Olise. Couldn't impact the game.
