Breaking News ! IKEA will be reopening its doors following the end of the second national lockdown, but when will the Swedish flat-packed furniture superstores be welcoming shoppers again, and what are the restrictions? The IKEA branch in Reading has been offering a click-and-collect service throughout the lockdown. The lockdown, which was intended to minimise the second wave of coronavirus ahead of Christmas, meant that non-essential businesses across England were forced to close, or adapt to Covid-safe measures, such as click-and collect and delivery. Reading IKEA recently had to put 73 staff into isolation following an outbreak at the store. When is Ikea reopening and what restrictions will be in place? IKEA will be reopening 19 of its stores from December 2, including its Reading branch. There will be various restrictions in place to keep customers safe, including a limit on the number of customers able to enter the store at any one time through a staggered entry system. The click-and-collect services will continue for customers opting to avoid walking round the store. Customers will be able to pick up Christmas trees from outside the store, ready for December’s festivities. Shoppers will be urged to come prepared with ready-made lists and their own bags. Those wishing to return items are encouraged to do so at a later date.
